The History of Alhambra-Eidos
Home > Company > History
Alhambra-Eidos has an extensive experience providing IT and communications solutions to business needs.
Beginnings
The companies that today conform Alhambra-Eidos go back to 1991, in the case of Grupo Eidos Consultoría Informática, S.L.U., and to 1992, in the case of Alhambra Systems S.A. Both are companies founded by businessmen with a long experience in technology who decided to launch a project based on providing services and on ongoing innovation. Alhambra Systems used to carry out installation projects and the management of system, network, and communications infrastructures. Grupo Eidos used to develop IT solutions.
During the nineties, the quality of the services provided by both companies achieved prominent recognition and they got the support of partnerships with important suppliers such as Microsoft and Cisco.
A Model that Grows
In 1999, Alhambra Systems acquired CTI Phone, a company that specialized in telephone service solutions. This provided the foundation for the technological line that has become one of the company's main growth factors.
In 2000, Alhambra Systems Group merged with Prologue Software (currently Prologue S.A.), keeping the management team, under the direction of two of the founders, Manuel Monterrubio and Manuel Perez, until July of 2007.
Martin Perez Segado, who had established since 1994 the administrative and management foundations for Alhambra Systems's continuous development, remained CFO of the company until August of 2009, adapting the management mode to each stage in growth.
In 2002, Alhambra Systems S.A. acquired Grupo Eidos Consultoría Informática S.L.U., which provides business lines that complement those of Alhambra Systems: business and development solutions customized according to IT applications, and specialized technical training. With this merge, Antonio Quiros, one of the founding partners of Grupo Eidos, becomes part of the management team, where he was Chief Operating Officer until 2009 and Chief Expansion Officer until 2010.
The merge with Grupo Eidos was a success thanks to the generated synergies. Both with CTI Phone and Grupo Eidos, the merge was performed by creating a common organization that maintained the best aspects of the two companies, with a single administrative and operating network, a single human resource management, and a single management information system, but without diluting the contributions of the company that was incorporated.
Outlook
The evolution of Alhambra-Eidos in the market during these last years is characterized by the following:
- The average projects become more important in their complexity, amount, and duration.
- The services hired by each existing client expand, and important companies become new clients.
- Government agencies, the main consumer of IT and communications services in Spain, increase the quantity and significance of their orders.
Thanks to the full integration with Prologue, in July of 2007, a wide spectrum of growth and expansion possibilities opens at the international level. Georges Seban, President and CEO of Grupo Prologue since 2004, is named President and Member of the Board of Alhambra Systems and Grupo Eidos, and Jaime Guevara is named CEO of both companies.
Nowadays, thanks to both companies's infrastructure, we can provide a better coverage with a global staff of more than 250 employees that provide services from Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, and Albacete) and France (Paris, Marseille) to companies and government agencies in Europe and South America.
Together with Prologue (a company that is quoted in the Paris Stock Exchange [PROL]), we constitute a group with a direct presence in several countries of Europe and in the US, and with indirect representatives in several more.
